Stay in UK on the basis of Children

Post by gaz1a » Mon Feb 13, 2012 4:28 pm

Hi there,

Anyone knows about getting a stay in UK on the basis on children staying more than 5 years as Student dependants.
Someone advised me that if a family is residing in UK for the last seven years then they can apply for Stay in UK on tehe basis on children as the children get used to the way of life in UK.

Does anyone can guide on this as there is any specified rule of 5 or 7 years for the children to get used to the life of Uk on the basis of human rights.

Hi,

The 7 year rule has been abolished in 2008, you will have to apply on 10 years long residence. Hope this helps.

‘The United Kingdom Border Agency is withdrawing DP5/96, a concession which has also been referred to as the seven year child concession, as of 9 December 2008.’
