Advice on filling 2 questions

Post by inzogbiya » Tue Oct 14, 2014 12:52 pm

Dear members

I need 2 clarifications please in filling the naturalisation form:

Q1.3 Date of when you were given ILR? For example, let's assume my PEO appointment was on 01-11-2013. The expiry date on the BRP is 01-11-2023. However the issue date shown on the BRP is on 15-11-2013. Which date should I use to answer Q1.3; 01-11-2013 or 15-11-2013? I've searched a lot on this forum but couldn't get a clear answer.

Q1.22 Knowledge of language / life in UK. My ILR application was after 28 Oct 2013. Therefore, should I tick only the one box that reads "I met the knowledge .... on or after 28 Oct 2013" and keep the first box blank for LITUK test details? Also I assume I DON'T need to submit any English language or LITUK evidence, is this assumption correct?

Thanks for any assistance.

Any advice from senior members on these 2 questions? I'm submitting my application in next few weeks.

If you have a letter use the date on their, otherwise to be on the safe side, use the date on the BRP (it is only a few days afterall)

You need to submit proof of English, which is separate from LIUK, unless you are from a majority English speaking country.

Thanks for any assistance.

Thanks for the response but because I have showed evidence of English language and LITUK after 28 Oct 2013 I thought there is no need to submit the evidence again during naturalisation? I don't want to submit uneccessary supporting documents.

You need to submit them again otherwise it will delay your application. Naturalisation rules are different to immigration rules.

There isn't a lot of paperwork to submit with naturalisation applications anyway, so what difference will it make to rather include them than have your application put on hold, delayed or rejected.
