Advice regarding Naturalisation after divorce

Post by vinnie0020 » Sat Jul 18, 2015 1:45 pm

Respected moderators and kind, benevolent forum users,

I am seeking your valuable advice and suggestions regarding my friend (non eu) who is going through the worst phase of his life. Now bit of background. My friend is married to an eu citizen for more then 3 years. His wife does not want child and is the root cause between the problem they are facing. After serious and various consultations they both have decided to split up i.e divorce.

My friend (non-eu state citizen) has ILR (based on long residency, granted this year march) and his naturalization is due next year in march. His last visa before ILR was EEA family member residence permit.

Ques. If my friend and his wife get divorced this year, is this divorce going to have any impact on my friend's naturalization next year? if yes what sort of impact and what option he have.

Thank you for your time and suggestions.

:)

No, as your friend already has ILR. As long as he meets the requirements for naturalisation, he should be ok.
