After Approval Question (Spouse Visa)

Post by tallows » Mon Apr 27, 2020 2:14 pm

First I`d just like to say thank you to everyone who takes the time to answer questions on this board, it`s a very helpful place and appreciated by many even if they never get round to saying it.

I`m a British citizen living in Japan with my Japanese wife, have been researching the Spouse Visa process and just want to check I`ve got it right - if you get approval, you essentially have 30 days to get to the UK (in order to pick up the BRP card)?

Without having researched it properly my plan was to apply for the visa for my wife, hopefully have it accepted and then move back to the UK with her around six months after approval, but it seems that`s not possible/advisable?

Thanks in advance for any help.

No it won't work like this as either you have to keep renewing the 30 days entrance clearance or will have to travel to UK to receive the remaining spouse visa. Following are requirements:

The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
