Applying for UK Ancestry Visa whilst pregnant

Post by veronicavee » Wed Jan 23, 2019 10:32 am

Hi,

I am an Australian citizen and my boyfriend is a British Citizen living in London. I am currently 6 months pregnant and just arrived back to Australia after spending 5 months in London and I have just applied for a UK Ancestry Visa. I am wondering if being pregnant will negatively affect my visa application and if being pregnant could cause my visa application to be rejected?

Thank you

No, as that would be discrimination!

However, note that if there is a delay in issuing/approving your visa, you might not have time to travel back to the UK as your initial visa is only valid for 30 days to facilitate your entry to the UK.

Okay thank you.

I have another question if you could please shed some light. I paid for a priority visa and a courier service to deliver my documents back and I have received all 3 SMS's from VFS, the last two stating my application was received on 2/15/2019 and the second saying my processed application will be delivered to the chosen address; both texts were sent on the same day, just a few minutes apart. I received those two texts on Friday, it is now Monday and my documents have not yet been delivered today, it's almost 5:30pm. Do you know what courier VFS uses? The regular postman has delivered the neighbourhoods mail including some for my house but not my passport. Do you know if it'll be delivered through regular mail or an actual courier van? Also how long it usually takes for documents to arrive after receiving those SMS's. I was told it would take 5-7 business days to get my documents back and today (Monday) is day 7. I read posts from people stating they received their documents in the mail the day after they got the last two texts from VFS so for me that should have been today. Just a bit stressed as I am now 7 and a half months pregnant so I need to leave to the UK as soon as possible and am afraid of further delays.

Thanks
