Applying for my 6 year old's BC under Section1(3)

Post by shazefarogha » Mon Apr 22, 2024 10:25 am

Hi

I am in the process of filling out the BC application form my 6 year old child on the basis that my wife has been recently been granted Settlement.

However when I fill in the application form, it treats the application as if its for an adult. I have clearly entered the child's DOB and other details in the form. Even at the end of the form, the documents that show up are

1. Applicant's Passport
2. BRP
3. Proof of living in the UK for the applicant for 5 years if applying in your own right or 3 years if applying as the spouse of a British Citizen
4. 2 Referee Declarations

The actual documents the are required to be submitted as per the case worker pdf doc I downloaded from the gov.uk website says, the following docs are required for application under Section 1(3):

• child’s full birth certificate showing birth in the UK, parents’ details and registration in the 12 month period following birth
• evidence of parent’s British citizenship since the applicant’s birth, such as: o a British passport
o a naturalisation certificate
o a registration certificate
• evidence of parent’s settled status since the applicant’s birth, such as one of the following:
o an indefinite leave to remain (ILR) stamp in a passport o a Home Office letter
o a no time limit stamp
o a biometric residence permit (BRP) confirming ILR
o a unique application number (UAN) confirming the parent has been granted
ILR (also known as settled status) under the EU Settlement Scheme
o evidence the parent holds a Withdrawal Agreement right to reside in the UK
permanently on the basis of qualifying activity for the relevant period • a marriage certificate, if:
o the parent on whom the claim is based became a British citizen or settled in the UK after the child was born
o the child was born prior to 1 July 2006 to a father who is a British citizen or settled in the UK. (If the child was born before 1 July 2006 and the parents were not married, see the guidance on Children of British Parents

Is it normal for the application online to not ask for the actual required docs that are mentioned in the case worker pdf? Can I upload the actual docs like Birth Certificate etc separately? Also, is there any specific format for the referee declaration they expect?

What is the proof of living the UK for 5 years that I can provide for my 6 year old child?
