Applying from Dubai - IHS charges

Post by ksatya » Fri Oct 02, 2020 6:37 pm

Dears,
I am Applying Tier2General visa from Dubai , below are some questions which is creating confusion.
It would be great if anyone can help me on this.

1) I am applying for Tier-2General (Shortage of Occupation) VISA from Dubai , i have filled up the form and got to know that, i need to pay IHS charges. Since it is 3yrs visa sponsored, I filled my start date approx 30-Nov-2020 to 30-Nov-2023 , I redirected to IHS payment page and amount which need to paid is 1644USD.
However as per calculation here :
https://www.immigration-health-surcharg ... ecker/type
I am supposed to pay 400GBP per yr i.e. Total : 1200GBP
Please clarify why the amount is different ? Is it due to GBP and USD conversion rate ?

2) Can i pay this amount of IHS from my India credit/debit card , event though amount is in USD ?
3) How many days approx will take for application to be approved and visa to be stamped in my passport ?
4) After visa stamped in my passport ,how many Max , i can stay outside UK ?

1. The IHS figure is likely correct. UKVI use oanda.com and set a rate monthly.

2. It will likely be converted to USD regardless of what bank card you use.

3. It varies and there are delays at the moment. Keep an eye on the timelines.

uk-tier-2-employer-sponsored-visas/out- ... 4-860.html

4. You initially get a 90 day visa to enter the UK. On tier 2 general, you cannot be absent for more than 180 days in any 12 month period. There are also limits of 28 days single absences detailed in the guidance notes. You can't for example just pop in and out of the UK at your own will and expect to keep your visa. The purpose is to work in the UK and follow the tier 2 rules and limits.

If you have a sponsor, they may have made arrangements to receive your BRP, and they will give you an Alternative Collection Location (ACL) code to enter below.

Otherwise, you will need to collect your BRP from a UK Post Office. Enter a UK postcode below to find out where your nearest UK Post Office will be.

To use a foreign degree, you need the English and comparable NARIC assessment, the UKVI visa red route.
