Biometrics appointment: passport with home office

My parents have not been together since I was 12 (I am 30 now) and the guide says “for people who’s parents are not married” I’m guessing them not being together is an issue as their obviously not married. I just wondered if they had to be together while I applied.

No!!!

You really are completely overthinking this process and becoming paranoid.

The requirement for UKF is ONLY that you are born to a British born father and your parents were NOT married. There is NO requirement that they must be together.

I am guessing I’m correct when I think that it doesn’t matter that my father isn’t in the UK? He has no intentions of moving back. He hasn’t been in the UK since 1970 and he left when he was 2.

He renews his passport every 10 years as we have family there and he intends to keep his Brittish citizinship if he becomes an Australian citizin.

Also he was a perminant resident of Australia for 40 plus years and applied for citizinship 2 or 3 years ago. He’ll be a dual citizin. So I’m guessing this won’t affect my application.
