Hi all,

Regarding my application for British citizenship.
I have just obtained ILR under the 5-year spouse route. I am married to a Brit. I live and work in the UK.

The guidance says that I need to show that I have been continously resident in the UK for the last 3 years.
My current passport stamps show all the times I have left and come to the UK in the last 3 years. But how do I actually show that I was living here 3 years ago? Do I need to provide any specific evidence? The guidance is quite vague and doesn't specify.
Your passport with stamps covering the three years is sufficient. Are your absences within the allowances?

I was living and I was physically present in the UK 3 years ago, but I didn't start employment until 2.5 years ago, so I can't provide any employment evidence for that exact date. I have lots of utility bills and bank statements from 3 years ago, but the guidance specifically says that I can't use these.
Employment is not a requirement for the application. You are not required to prove that exact dates. Just make sure your absence listing is correct. Bills and statements are not necessary, and not accepted anyway.
I would be really grateful if anyone could advise.
The application is generally straightforward and requires only a minimum of documents.

No. UKVI have their own database from the advance passenger information provided by Stupid etc that they check against what is in your passport. No need to add unnecessary documents.

Oh, ok, thanks. I wonder why they ask for dates that I have left the UK in that case, if they already have that information?
