So are you saying that the fact mine was "Awaiting a decision" on the morning of 30/11 and after 1pm on the same day it has changed to "Decided" and still right now it says it's decided it's something that cannot be relied on and I should contact them? Pretty disappointing if that's the case!

From what I remember reading on here there was a single user who's status changed to 'Decided' for a day or so and then back to 'Awaiting Decision'. He/She contacted the HO and they told him it was changed to 'Decided' in error.

I think this was an edge case, if your status changed to 'Decided' and remained as such, I wouldn't worry too much.

No I received the approval letter and in there it has the contact details for my local county register (Dorchester). I called them and once I mentioned my name they said "yep we got your certificate yesterday already and you will be posted a letter for invitation on the next available group ceremony". It will not be until 8th Feb 2018 but I am in no rush anyway so all good!
Maybe just give your register a call? They might have your stuff too and it's only a matter to get them to tell you what date they could offer you.

EU citizen. Applied via NCS 29/08, decided 30/11. Received letter today dated 04/12.

Application made through NCS on 15/8.
More details are on my post within August timeline.
Date status changed to DECIDED: 24/11
Date on approval/invitation letter: 28/11
Date letter received: 07/12
Ceremony booked for 14/12.

The user is in a London borough. They have more frequent ceremonies, usually weekly or twice a month.

I have applied for the naturalization through Lewisham council Nationality Checking Service last month.
I opted for the Joining passport and citizenship application.

Hope I am still allowed to post in this thread after attending the ceremony.

Does everyone receive the text from HMPO when the passports are posted?
I have read that people receive text on their status from HMPO & DX separately.

Is it signed for or dropped through the doors or into the mailbox?

I haven't received any text yet and still not panicking as it's only a week but did read some horror stories of people not receiving even after 3 weeks of attending ceremony.

Sadly another waiting game!!

Just to update I got my Invitation letter as well today dated 1st December 2017 from UKVI.
booked ceremony for 13th December 2017

I got a 'Citizenship Invitation' letter.

It starts with 'I am pleased to tell you that this application for British citizenship has been approved' and then goes on talking about attending the ceremony.

Now, I know that I am supposed to receive two letters, the approval letter and the citizenship invitation letter. I am slightly confused as to which one this is and if I need to wait for the second one before booking the ceremony...?

There are two types of letters.

1. Combined approval and ceremony letter.

2. Approval letter and separately a ceremony invite letter.

Who gets which is random selection, possibly based on area/postcode. For the second option, most usually have to wait for the invite letter.

So you received option 1
So you can book ceremony with council.

If your online status is not recognised then you should remove the first alphabet or at least one number from your Home Office’s reference number.

For example, if your Home Office’s reference number is J123456789 then you should enter online as 123456789. Similarly, if your Home Office’s reference number is 0123456789 then you should enter online as 123456789.

P.S. I, and my other 2 friends’ were facing the same problem. We used this tactic and it worked for us. I hope it will work for everyone else too.

In my case, I never received approval letter but got the citizenship invitation with which I booked and attended my ceremony (private for £50).

Can someone advice me what to do have try all The Ref number to check my application what is saying not recognised .today making 6 week now. Am checking it before since two days now showing not recognised

What have you applied for? Yesterday you posted the same question in the Tier 1 General dependent sub forum and today you are posting in the British citizenship sub forum.

What 'residence permit' category exactly have you applied for? Please note you cannot simply post your questions across all different sub forums. There are category specific sub forums and you should post in the one that is relevant to the application you have made.

My application status changed today ( 08/12/2017) . I just called them and they told me that the decsion was made on 04th Dec 2017

Letter is in post but sadly Royal Mail doesn't deliver on Sunday

Now everything crossed for the right outcome. For the reference, the status changed between 2.15 and 4.15 pm, definitely not at 12.

FYI the decision was made on 04th Dec but updated today .. so hopefully expect letter next week.. Let's just hope it is right decision.

That would be great!!! How do you know yours (and hopefully mine) got decided on the 4th? Do you have some clever trick to extract information form HO?
