Wow!!!
Just saw someone celebrating her ceremony on FB with the following timeline:

Attended citizenship ceremony today. Leicester Council.
My timeline-
Naturalisation application submitted online 30 June 2020.
Biometrics at ukvcas centre - 5 August 2020.
No email.
Approval letter received by post- 24 Nov 2020 (Dated Nov 13).
Citizenship cer email from council- 29 Nov 2020.
Citizenship ceremony- 5 December 2020.

I'm really puzzled to be honest...
Wow!! I applied in april, got approved in september and still no invitation and no certificate :( HO are so random

Hi guys
I would like to share my opinion about Home office performance
First job in home office likes any profession and you can see skilled workers and new workers on training stage
You are lucky if your case hold by skilled worker who knows all steps from A to Z
For our citizenship I think every case takes few hours on stable and clear documents
All job is starting from checking documents and reporting individual then made an decision following that print all paper works which need and job done
Some case workers take long time on every step then they let system down and down till it got back log
Whatever we are all sharing same pain here and we should be happy for everyone release and got his final stage ( ceremony )
As I know hone office have not target , and there has no queue or fair
If you are lucky then your case hold by skilled officer , that is
Sorry for my long story , I just share my experience
Cheers .

Hi
Hope you all are well.
I’ve been a silent reader. I applied for Naturalisation in September 2019 and got approved 05 November 2020, well I waited for 13 months. I’m now waiting for my invitation.
I’m really sorry to see many of you are waiting for invitation for so many months.
I hope all of us receive our invitations soon.

Refugee route can sometimes take very long but glad you are approved. Ceremony invitations may be quicker now as backlog has much subsided so you may get it in next 2/3 weeks.

I'm in the same situation as you. I've escalated over the phone and also send a complaint. After the phone escalation I've received a standard email, no case specific information provided. Believe it or not tomorrow is 20th working day since my complaint and no response, I'm not sure if the escalation email can be treated as a complaint response. I do hope that I won't get anything tomorrow, as I plan to make a complain about a complaint.
To be honest, I'm starting to have enough of it and start to regret that I've applied for citizenship.

My escalation was submitted 1.5 weeks ago. This week I got a response from citizenship.support to an email I sent many weeks ago (not sure if it has any connection with the escalation). It was a standard copy-paste "Upon investigation I can confirm that your citizenship ceremony documents have not yet been printed or despatched to the local authority." No concrete timelines when the certificate can be printed have been provided.

As I've asked to escalate, clearly my paperwork hasn't arrived.. So they didn't respond to the question. I'll probably have to give them a call again and try to find out what is actually preventing the paperwork from being generated for so long.

Hi hannah2019, sorry the process is taking so long for you. If you were approved recently there is a chance you'll get your paperwork fairly soon as the HO is apparently printing it at pre-covid speed, fingers crossed!

I was approved in March 2020 and still waiting for an invitation letter from HO.

I have called 0300 790 6268 and no positive reply. They told me a couple of times that they will escalate, but nothing happened.

Have emailed on all the email addresses found on this forum, but no reply.

Have sent a complaint and they didnt reply within 20 days. So, I wrote another complain after 20 days.

Emailed MP, She never replied. Wrote to Minister for Future Borders and Immigration and his office replied immediately saying it has been forward to the relevant office. It was 10 days ago.

Does anyone have any positive outcome after they sent an email to UKVI and complaint?

I really dont know what shall I do next. I think we all who are approved before August should come together and write to Home Secretary. I said August because every time I call HO, they said all the approvals until August should have received the letter by Nov end.

Thanks

As my wait time for the citizenship paperwork is approaching 9 months, I've done some research.

For the escalation, call 03001232253, options 1-2-2-2, explain you've been waiting from March and be prepared to give your case details. For me they escalated on the spot, I received an automatic email. But it seems so far neither myself nor raij got a meaningful response.

Some people say it's more effective if you write the Home Office a letter (their address is on the approval letter). I haven't tried this yet, but probably will as at this point I'm trying any option..

You can also try submitting a SAR request to the HO to get all the information about your application. Their service standard is 30 days, but I read online they often don't respond at all. I understand though they are obliged to provide this information by law.

You can submit a complaint and a complaint about a complaint on the HO website (for example, in the first complaint response the HO told me to wait 12 weeks, still nothing arrived, so I feel like I can submit a complaint they didn't deliver on what they promised in the first complaint). If after 2 complaints the issue is not resolved, the HO suggests to complain to the Ombudsman. I read here https://www.ombudsman.org.uk/news-and-b ... rt-reveals that the Ombudsman upholds 3 out of 4 complaints about the Home Office. I'm wondering if anyone on this forum has any experience with the Ombudsman and whether it's worth pursuing that route?
Apparently you need your MP signature to complain to the Ombudsman though, so probably best trying to reach out to your MP again, maybe call their office if they don't respond to emails?

Lastly, I asked a lawyer opinion on what can be done in this situation. They said chasing the HO a lot and theoretically it is possible to threaten them with a judicial review if they don't respond, but they think going via the MP is the best route. Again, it's just one opinion, I'm not an expert in this field, I've just also been struggling with this endless wait.
Let us know if you come up with other options.

I’m already a British citizen and currently waiting for my passport.

However I have been reading here the last days and I’m terribly sad about the ongoing wait and all attempts to get any information and answers and leaving approved applicants waiting.

Just an example of my MP getting a response from Home Office.
After the 12 week deadline passed beginning last month for my case, my MP has written to HO.
On 4 December they have written a reply saying I have had my ceremony now.
However as in another correspondence before my MP said HO answers after 25 days.
That was the case now and at the previous request of getting information.

Therefore I would say write to your MP to make a representation and be aware it’s 25 days. They will reply.

For the other applicant on here saying they got an approval in error - I would definitely escalate this.
That’s shocking.

I really hope you all get positive news soon.

Bless you.

Hi raij, I have an update. Got an email from the HO, they said there seems to be a technical problem and that's why my paperwork wasn't printed. They said they are addressing it with urgency and will endeavour to generate the paperwork as soon as they can.
If it's a technical problem, probably I wasn't the only applicant affected. I hope they could rectify it for everyone affected, so there is a chance there will be some progress on our applications soon.

Oh my Goodnes thats great news ! what email did you use please? i try and send them an email again x
