Help Needed for New Born Baby British Citizenship

Post by Mak9878 » Thu Oct 24, 2019 12:17 am

Hi Everyone,

Hope you all are at best of your health.

To conclude whole history, My baby boy has born on 11 October 2019 and my ILR was approved on 05 October 2019 and got brp the next working day on the basis of Tier 1 Entrepreneur 5 years route (ILR - Set O).

My wife application is still under consideration on the basis of TIer 1 Entrepreneur dependent PBS.

I have got baby boy birth certificate today and want to apply his British Passport on the basis of one parent having ILR (father).

Now my question are as follows:

1) Do i need to first register baby for british citizenship ( i believe it is called naturalization as well)? If yes, please tell me how and which form do i need to fill online.

2) Do i just need to apply directly for british passport on the basis of one parent having ILR before baby was born? If yes, please tell me where, how and which form.

My friends are saying that you just need to apply for baby british passport directly now because baby does not need to go for naturalization and you got ILR before baby birth.

Waiting for your suggestions anxiously.

Thanks for your time and considerations.

Your baby is British by birth since you were settled before the baby was born.

You can apply for baby’s British passport directly.

Since, you are in the same situation as myself, the following link may help you regarding your child’s future claim to British Citizenship:
