Naturalisation Questions

Post by Jatpunjabi » Sat May 20, 2023 8:21 am

Hi all,

1 - Could you please clarify that once can apply for naturalisation stright away after ILR via Set M if married to British Citizen?

2 - Does one need to be in UK 3 years ago or 5 years ago relative to the date of the application?

3 - How does one submit refree forms? Do they fill and sign the back of the passport sized photos and then the applicant uploads both front and back of the photo along with passport and BRP? Could someone please clarify that as I am counfused about this?

Thanks

Sorry forgot to add
Do the referees need to be a professional or can any British Citizen over the age of 25 with no criminal record can be a referee?

Yes, if you meet the all the requirements.
2 - Does one need to be in UK 3 years ago or 5 years ago relative to the date of the application?
3 years.
3 - How does one submit refree forms? Do they fill and sign the back of the passport sized photos and then the applicant uploads both front and back of the photo along with passport and BRP? Could someone please clarify that as I am counfused about this?
Eveything is scanned and uploaded digitally online. The referees do NOT sign the back of the photo!!

You nee TWO referees. One must be British and over the age of 25. The other must be a professional on the published accepted professionals list and can be of any nationality.

Hi guys,

Can a manager employed by local borough act as a professional refree?

Struggling to get someone share their personal info.

On the list of accepted professions there's "local government officer" so this should be ok.
