No confirmation email.
Please read the timeline section pinned above. Every case is decided on its individual merits.
Anywhere from a month to never :)

Thanks, Aman.

But the advisor said that I will receive the confirmation email in the evening :/

I also heard on average it takes 1 to 3 months. Isn't that true?

It seems only the complicated cases take longer.

My work history was extensive though. Does HO contact all our former employers? I don't understand why they require 10 year work history :/

Why do you think you need a confirmation for submitting biometrics?
Already answered above. Verifications,Good character checks may take time.
Probably to check if applicant breached visas as terms and paid correct tax.

But weren't these checks were done at the time of the ILR?

I was expecting Sop to send our biometrics with the rest of the uploaded docs and online app immediately after the appointment or on the same day

I don't understand why they have to take time to forward this to HO and then send the applicant a text about it lol I mean the ones who has paid for this service :p

And thanks for your response!

ILR and citizenship are two completely different processes and rules. ILR is under the Immigration Rules. Citizenship is under the Nationality LAWS.

They usually do.

You submitted the application to HO the day you paid for it. Sopra only validated the documents n biometrics and forwarded to HO.
I don’t recall receiving any text
It’s been a long journey. Just relax.

Thank you for your replies, Cr001 and aman,

CR001, you stated:

My message, I was expecting Sop to send our biometrics with the rest of the uploaded docs and online app immediately after the appointment or on the same day

''They usually do.''

The ones who paid for the SMS service, do they receive an SMS soon after they leave the building of Sop? Is that the only thing we get out by paying for this SMS service? :?

Btw, should I tell at least my recent employers that HO will contact them about me as I have applied for naturalisation or does HO usually don't contact our employers?

I also noticed that at least one of former employers has dissolved their business. I was not sure about the dates or the names of 'all' my employers so I am a bit concerned about this.

How does HO check employment history or specifically look for?

Many thanks in anticipation. This forum is amazing!

1. They do not contact employers.

2. Ho check your employment history with HMRC.

Thank you for your reply, CR001

1. I have worked for so many employers in the last 10 years or so. If I have missed one or two employers .. is that going to be an issue?

2. What exactly is HO looking for in the employment history category?

Should not be too much of an issue.

That you have paid your taxes and that you have not worked in breach of any of the visa conditions of visas you have held, i.e. working more than 20 hours on Tier 4 for example.

@CR001

Oh thanks. Yes, my record is crystal clear and I have never breached any visa regulations or laws etc.

Do such applications process a lot quicker?

I heard the minimum known processing time for a naturalisation application is around a month. Is that really true :D

Once again, thank you for running this forum. It's so helpful! God bless you all.

Please do reply when it is convenient for you.

It will mean a lot.

1. Is the minimum processing time really 1.5 months?

2. Which aspect of our application takes the longest time to assess?

I am assuming when HO contacts HMRC about our employment history of 10 years, the latter will take a minimum 4 weeks to get this information.

2a. Does HO contact HMRC usually after the biometrics appointment?

3. Are there any other checks which take time?

Many thanks in anticipation. Have a nice day everyone

1. It can take anywhere from a few weeks/couple of months up to 6 months. Sometimes it takes longer. We have some members who have been waiting a year or more with straightforward applications.

2. Likely the checks with all the other government departments.

2a. HO start processing once supporting documents and biometrics are received.

3. No one on the forum would know, we don't have inside information on what HO's processes are.
It will mean a lot.

Thank you for your prompt reply, CR001

You stated:

''We have some members who have been waiting a year or more with straightforward applications.''

How can a straightforward application take this long .. perhaps, they were not straightforward then :p

Anyway, thank you once again!

Some do and some don't. We wouldn't know why HO takes so long with some. It could be any number of reasons, possibly good character/criminal checks with an applicants home country for example.
