Start date for residency requirements

According to https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-in ... -to-remain, the residency requirements for citizenship are:
  • spent more than 450 days outside the UK during those 5 years
  • spent more than 90 days outside the UK in the last 12 months
I was wondering what the start date for this qualifying period is.
