British passport what next?

Hi everyone,

Please help!

I obtained a British passport as a ‘British citizen by descent or otherwise’ my mother was born in the UK. I now have dual passports, one Australian and one British. On my British passport, it says ‘British citizen’ under nationality. I am already living and working in the UK on a working visa but this expires in February, so this is why I have gone for the British passport in order to stay.

My question is- do I need anything else in order to live and work in the UK? My work has mentioned an updated Biometric Residency Permit.. I’m unsure what else is needed other than my passport allowing me to continue my life in the UK?

You only need your British passport as proof of right to live and work in the UK.

You are British by descent.
