BRP FLR renewal processing time?

My FLR spouse visa was renewed in March 2022, however I changed my name via deed poll here in the UK and all my documents, including my passport are now in my new name.

I went to apply for a name change for my BRP and went for my biometrics in the UK on 9 December, however, I have still not heard back.

Gov.uk state that the processing time for applications for family visa (ie spouse visa) made within the UK are made within 8 weeks.

I know they have been busy with the Ukraine crisis and also with the BNO applications from HK but can someone explain what I should do? I still hold my BRP in my old name but my passport is in my new name. I understand I can't travel outside the UK with an application pending?

This is for a visa application, not brp changes etc.

If you simply applied for a new brp to change your name, it can take up to 6 months.

Hi, the guidance on GOV.UK says that a BRP replacement can take up to six months if the person holds ILR status. If not, a decision should be made within 8 weeks. Is there anything I should do to complain or escalate then?
