BRP Renewal

Post by DRM150 » Mon Jan 08, 2024 4:56 pm

My wife has a BRP that expires 25-02-2024. It was issued 11-05-2021 and she entered the UK on 21-6-21. It was based on marriage to me (a British citizen) and says Leave to Enter and Work Permitted. The UK visa in her passport, now I look at it, says valid 25/05/21 - 23/08/21.

We are really struggling to find the BRP renewal form/process/link on the gov.uk website. Can anyone help -- post a link? Finding the whole thing thoroughly confusing.

Any idea how long it will take to get a new BRP? She planned to travel out of the country in mid-march.

Not sure if I am missing something, and should be asking additional questions.

Thanks!

It is not a brp renewal, which is something different

She has to apply for a visa extension on from FLR M and meet all the requirements, financial, english A2, evidence of cohabitation for 2 years etc.

Great! Thank you. Do you know how long that will take to complete?

I mean process (by the government), not complete by us.

Once you submit online, you have to make an appointment for biometric enrollment. How long it takes for an appointment depends on where you are and availability etc.

Standard processing time is 8 weeks and upto 6 months.

Super priority, decision within 24 hours after biometric, cost an extra £1000 and is not guaranteed either.

She cannot travel out of the uk until a decision has been made and she has her new brp card to enable her to return.

Hi, we are making the application and it seems like only standard service is available. Does that make sense? She has a trip planned to Argentina in mid-March of course. I would think the application is pretty straightforward in terms of approval, but someone still needs to look at it.

Do you think we just use standard service and hope and pray because there is no other option?

Thanks for your help.

Super priority service is limited and based on availability. Most have reported that super priority options becomes available around 12am or 1am every day.

Super Priority costs an extra £1000 and it is also not a guaranteed service.
