hi,
i would really appreciate if anyone will guide me propely as i am in real need of guidance .i recently got citizenship certificate and i have 2 year old son . Due to some reasons , i am getting divorce from my husband who is also british citizen and he wants me to leave uk and said that we will process divorce papers in our previous hometown. but i dont want to go back like this as i dont trust him and know he will not divorce me . Right now i am living with him as i dont have friends and relatives and he has booked our flight in March . plz guide me how to apply for council house .i am not working as my son is too young and also speech delayed so i have to give him all of my time . please help me as i am really worried .what should i do and how to claim benefits as i know once i will go back like this , my life would be in real trouble

I think you should go to your council and let them know everything and they will help you .i myself applied online but it a very long process you have to talk to someone to speed up things

I did questionnaire online then council says they will contact me in 5 days and access my situation then they will tell if I am eligible or not and in what category I fall .but in your case as you are in danger if u go to council or talk to health visitor they will guide you and speed up your process due to danger of home less.that's what I know

if you and your son are british citizens, he cannot force you to leave the uk. contact citizens advice bureau or sheler charity urgently for help. shelter will help you with all your stuff and can help you with the council housing too. they have helped me a lot.
