Certify Passport

Post by NikyPun » Wed Nov 04, 2020 11:57 am

Hello everyone

I will be applying for Settlement spouse Visa(First one) for my husband soon, I am planning to self scan my documents from home. There are still some of stuff I am unsure about, Any help will be greatly appreciated.

1. Will my husband (Applicant) need to Certify his Passport?
2. When uploading document, Do we need to scan all the pages of his passport?
3. He had lost his Previous Passport therefore we won't be able to submit it as an evidence, Will it be fine as long as I have stated this in the cover letter?

Thank You. :D

1. No
2. There are mixed opinion & experiences. For many only bio page & stamped pages only have worked.
3. Nothing is submitted in original means you can even upload its image/copy if you have one.

No
2. When uploading document, Do we need to scan all the pages of his passport? All pages of applicant's passport and biodata page of sponsor's passport
3. He had lost his Previous Passport therefore we won't be able to submit it as an evidence, Will it be fine as long as I have stated this in the cover letter? If there is no relevant previous travel history, declare is as lost. If there is, update details of the missing passport and record of such travels and under 'where is the passport' indicate lost.

Thank You. :D

Sorry If this question has been asked before.
In the employment letter that I have received, they have electronically signed the letter with their name. Does it need to be wet signature ?

With the HO moving towards acceptance of electronic docs and considerations of pandemic(I presume), electronic signature not a problem as evidenced by outcomes of some applicants. If there is need to clarify, same details on said letter may be contacted.

More than the wet signatures the stationary on which it has been issued will matter, and in case of its being official stationary/letter head then should be fine.

Employment Letter

Post by NikyPun » Sat Nov 14, 2020 1:41 pm

Hello Everyone
I am confused on one thing so I am back again for your help. I work for NHS, The payroll department for our trust is based in another trust so In the employment letter I have received they have quoted their trust postal address and with no email or phone no. but that have stated the Hospital I work for in the letter ( this letter includes everything that is needed )
So I was thinking of contacting the trust that I work for and ask them to write a letter explaining that the payroll department is based at another trust and that I am employed there so that the case worker wouldn’t get confused as I work for one trust and in the employment letter the address is for another, if I am making sense. Any help/ tips appreciated.

Simply get added the above underlined bits in the employer letter and rest you can explain in your own covering letter.

Online application question

Post by NikyPun » Sun Nov 15, 2020 7:27 pm

Thanks for the advice Seagul :D Just had a few more questions, need some guidance with

1.As mentioned previously on the post, Our Payroll is based at another trust and I work for a different one. In the employment letter, they have stated the trust where they are located at as their address but am I right in writing the details of the trust I work for in the employer address section of the application form?

2. I am asked to provide 12 months of salary, I received an increment in April and Sep this year but as I haven't been paid those pay for full 12 months, Am I right in putting the annual gross pay which I have received for full 12 months? Been employed there since 2018.

3. On my Payslip, they don't write the issue date, Just the pay date ( 27/10) and Period end date( 31/10). Frow which date do you suggest the 28 Day rule will take effect from?

1. Yes state the address where you work.
2. Stick to that figure which will be in employer letter.
3. I will keep both dates (27 & 31) within 28 days which isn't difficult to adhere.

Thank you for your reply
Can I ask in regard to my payslip, I work weekends and night aswell for which I get extra pay on top of the basic pay so is that considered overtime? And if it does, will I need to mention this in the employment letter.

In regards to annual gross pay, in the letter they have mentioned all of my previous annual income to the current ones in the table, so I am thinking of my writing my current one as no matter what which salary I put they are all over £18600 so when they calculate would it matter if it was below than stated ?

Yes overtime must reflect in same employer letter as its being a key information

Really no need as they are well aware about the income threshold.

Thanks again :) :D
I will be putting down £26907 which Is my current annual salary since Sep. Just few question hopefully it will be the last time asking. From my work I often get tax refund, sometimes 2-3 x a month. This is shown on different payslip, I am not planning to send these but will explain in the cover letter why I have been receiving these extra pay from work, would this be sufficient enough?

Also Can I ask about the enhancement I receive for working nights and Weekends, the overtime hours I do vary each months depending on the shift I am assigned by ward manage. So if I ask my payroll to word it like above would that be ok? Or you think I would have to calculate how much hours of overtime I have done each month and get that written up in the employment letter?

You still need to send all payslips covering the relevant period (unless you aren't relying on that income). And there is no discretion over it even by adding a covering letter.

If they describe the amount of overtime then it would be relatively more advantageous.

Sorry, Can I Just ask in regards to the Tax Refund Pay I get, the payslip is related to BANK post I have got within the trust not my regular post if it make sense, would you still suggest including these as they show up in the same bank account where I get regular pay as to avoid confusion. But then the thing is I never work any BANK shift and the only pay I receive in this post is tax refund pay and it’s not even a lot. Thanks seagulfor your continuous advice :D :D

I have noticed that your basic annual salary (£26907) is palpably sufficient alone without combining it with any other income, therefore, I would simply sidestep the other payslips bearing the tax refunds to prevent any anomaly. Also, as a piece of information, something you aren't rely on despite being credited in to your account won't evoke its evidence submission.

Yh, My basic salary with enhancement pay I receive from my Regular post is sufficient enough so I won’t include the payslip Slip from my BANK role where I get the Tax refund as I am not relying on them. Now I just need to ask payroll dpt to write abt the enhancement I receive and hopefully will be able to send my application off end of this week. Fingers crossed 🤞
And Thanks again seagul for replying so quick and being so amazing.

Relationship evidence

Post by NikyPun » Thu Nov 19, 2020 4:36 am

Do we need to provide relationship/ subsisting evidence when we were both together in the same country? Mainly asking abt chat and call logs. As when we were in same country we just used to call each other on the phone instead of chat but I am assuming if we were together we wouldn’t need to. Got lots of pics and flight ticket / boarding pass when I went to meet/get married would that enough but from the time when we were apart I have got plenty of chat and call logs for that. 😊 Thank you.

The screenshots of texts/calls/chat is only required when you were living apart e.g one living in home country whilst other arrived back to UK. Yes pics, tickets, boarding passes & any other evidence when you were living together can be utilized as evidences of subsisting relationship. Also, from the very outset a specific date giving rise to the formation of relationship must carefully be selected because the same might keep repetitively be asked in all subsequent applications.

Sorry forgot to mention, it’s a 3 bedroom with living room- according to what I have read it would be considered 4 room so 7.5 ppl are eligible to stay. My parents, 2 siblings and me so total of 5 at present residing in this house so shouldn’t be overcrowded with my husband coming in? As I have read in some post, if only non related people lives together, that is when Inspection report is compulsory? Any advice greatly appreciated

Does not warrant PIR since all occupants are related.

Your understanding is correct and also the supporting documents you have are sufficient. Property inspection won't be required unless you voluntarily want to.
