Child born overseas to ILR parents

Post by mewlz » Fri Jul 03, 2015 4:29 pm

We both hold ILR since May 2015 therefore will be eligible to apply for naturalisation in May 2016.
I am planning to give birth in Australia and bring my baby back in February.

The question is does my newborn need to apply for ILR in Feb 2016 before he/ she can apply for naturalisation in May 2016 with us?

If we bring him post May 2016 after we obtain our citizenship, would our newborn be eligible to apply for naturalisation directly?

Any advices will be appreciated. Thank you so much.

Baby may apply to join you. Should be granted ILE and able to register for British citizenship with/after you.
