I have few questions and I need your expertise which you guys have always provided me in the past. Let me explain my question with some context.
Context
My fiance got her PR back in Nov 2019. Now She is planning to apply for her Citizenship before 21-Jan-2021. The reason to apply before 21-Jan-2021 is that she was out of the country for 70 days 5 years ago from 21-Jan-2016 till 01-Apr-2016. As per the rule mentioned here https://www.gov.uk/apply-citizenship-in ... -to-remain under the heading "When to Apply" You must have been physically present in the UK exactly 5 years before the Home Office receives your application. Your application may be rejected if you cannot prove this.
Problem/Confusion
In an online application form called "Form AN" (please correct me if I am wrong here), when you finish the form and upload all your scanned documents online, you can now submit the form and after submission, you can not make any changes to the form. At this point, you are presented with a section of payment where you pay the application fee with the required amount and then you are directed to the page where you are notified to book your biometric appointment with the partner service of HO.
Notice that there are 4 different submission events in the above process.
- Filled form with scanned uploaded documents submission
- Application fee payment
- Booking the biometric appointment where they also take your picture and verify your documents.
- When you actually attend your biometrics appointment and they verify everything, take your fingerprints, picture and send the case forward or update their system accordingly.
- What will be her actual start date of the citizenship application here? Options are as follows:
- Would it be the date when she clicks and submits the filled online form along with the scanned uploaded documents?
- Would it be the date when she actually makes the payment of the application fee?
- Would it be the date when HO will actually receive the payment of the application fee?
- Would it be the date when she actually books the appointment for her biometrics?
- Would it be the date when the HO partner service receives their biometric appointment fee?
- Would it be the date when she actually attends the biometric appointment and the partner service officer actually verify her documents, take her fingerprints and her picture and send the case forward or update her details in the system?
Please clarify in detail. Any links or pointers to the written rules would be much appreciated. Many thanks in advance and I am very hopeful that you guys will help me with your experience and expertise as you always did in the past.
Looking forward to your reply very soon.
Thanks.
Beest Regards,
