Confused if myfamily can apply for ILR or Citizenship

I am a British citizen since 2024.
My wife and 6 yo daughter family visas are about to expire in the next few months. By the time their visas expires, they will be living here for 5 years.
My question is, when their visa expires, will they need to apply for ILR or extend the visa again?

Have they been living in the UK under the same visa category for 5 years, ie they didn't switch categories?

What visa category exactly is it that they hold? There are many dependent visas each with different rules.

What date was their first visa granted and what date did they enter the UK?

If the child is born abroad, the child follows the same immigration pathway as the second parent and can apply for ILR only along with the second parent.

Once the child and mother get ILR (depending on what visas they have lived in the UK in the past, as CR001 has asked above), both of them can then apply for British citizenship immediately after getting ILR.

They had entry visa in July 2020. Entered UK in August 2020. After a few days received Biometrics cards for 2.5 years. After that renewed again for 2.5 years. It ends at the end of year. Visa is FL1. They did not switch.

If they meet the requirements, they apply for ILR, calculated from date of entry plus 5 years minus 28 days.

Unsure why you think they need to apply for an extension!!

FL1 is NOT a visa, there is no such visa. Presumably you mean a spouse of settled person visa, extension would have been FLR(M). When did you get ILR?
