Divorce certificate

Hi guys!

I have a question if anyone can assist please

Me and my ex wife both British got married in Pakistan in 2011 but later divorced in the UK using our local mosque.

I'm thinking of getting married from Pakistan and have started the procedure with my local union Council to get my divorce certificate.

My 1st marriage had not been registered in Pakistan with NADRA just with the union Council.

Will the divorce certificate issued by the union Council be sufficient for me to use to show that my 1st marriage has broken down.

Were you formally divorced through the UK courts?

Your uk mosque divorce would not be recognised.

You need to formally divorce through the uk courts and obtain a decree absolute before you remarry if you plan to bring a spouse to the uk.

You are not divorced under UK law. That will be a greater issue than worrying about whether the divorce is accepted in Pakistan.
