ID Doc For LIUK Test & HO Application - BRP

Post by rayuk » Wed Aug 12, 2020 3:40 pm

I am on the Tier-1 Ent route and about to submit my ILR application on the 5-year route. My current leave to remain expire by Sept'20.

I had finally managed to find and book a date for the Life In The UK LIUK test in my city, but it is not due till 27 Aug. I have booked with the BRP as the ID to be provided as I did not see an option for DL.

I am mostly ready to submit my application via the webservice to HO now and they have asked if I will be able to provide my current BRP (see image attached). The format in which this is asked I feel I must reply YES (and send them this original). The issue is in that case I will not be able to carry it for my test date later this month. Same applies with my Passport.

I was planning to send the pass certificate later to HO when and if I pass (as per the info in another thread).
I wonder if someone has had a similar issue with test centre dates not possible to book before ILR application is sent... and what is suggested for the ID BRP (should I not send it to HO and offer a letter with explanation)?

Original documents are NOT sent to UKVI anymore, this has been the case since November 2018. Everything is scanned and uploaded to the UKCVAS portal after you have applied for ILR online.

There is no paper application process anymore.

What you need to send to HO is the ref number you get when you pass the exam.

Oh, that's a relief. Thank you for the prompt info. This helps.
