Do I have the ILR application date correct?

Post by ras9zg » Tue Jan 19, 2021 3:29 pm

Hi, I transferred from a Tier 2 visa in 2016 to FLR (M) after getting married to my husband. My BRP (expired) reminds me that the date of issue was 16-07-2016. Does this mean then that my 28 day period to apply for my ILR starts on 18 June 2021? I assume so, given it's not like '28 days from when I arrived in UK' as that doesn't exist, and I dont think my Tier 2 years count, correct?

Just want to be prepared... Thank you!!

For you, it is the date of switching to the family route in the UK which is the date of your visa approval letter

BRP Card question

Post by ras9zg » Wed May 26, 2021 9:12 am

I am looking to apply for ILR in mid-June (using super priority). However, I have a trip in July that I must make. When I apply in June, will they take my passport and current BRP card, or will they leave them with me? If they leave with me (and still valid in July), can I use those to travel? I have seen some people waiting up to a month to get their new BRP card in the mail, even though Gov.UK says it is a 10 day turnaround. Thank you for any help.

Also If you are granted ILR, your current BRP will become invalid. :!:

Documents for ILR and double check date

Post by ras9zg » Sun May 30, 2021 3:26 pm

Can someone tell me if the following is correct for the documents I need, and some additional questions next to them? I am just trying to be ready, so we can apply day 1 of being eligible.

Proof of Application: passport

Proof of ID and travel history: Passport (Both husband and wife)
BRP
Flight emails (to prove travel dates??)

For your kids you must provide:
- each child's UK passport
- each child's birth certificate
- a letter confirming each child's address, dated in the last 3 months (QUESTION: could this be a bank statement my child has? Or an NHS letter????)

Housing: Mortgage statement (QUESTION: is there another way to prove housing / house in our name?)
Land registry document (?)
Latest Council Tax Bill

Finances
Letter from both work places confirming salary
Payslips and bank statements for 6 months.

Other

Our marriage certificate
code for the Life in the UK test pass.

Documentation:
6 forms of correspondence each (12 in total) - QUESTION: Over how many years does this need to span? Is it just the 2 years since last visa??

Question: are passport photos still needed???

In addition to this, Leave to Remain FLR(M) was granted on 5 year route on 16 July 2016. Entered the country years before this on a different visa, and switched route (hence clock reset). So eligible to apply from 28 days before 16 July??? Meaning 18 June 2020 marks 5 years, and can apply for ILR on this date?

Thanks a million for any help to make sure I am fully ready! :-)

Documents are look good. Photos are not needed. The eligibility date is 5 years starts from the date of switch in the UK + 5 years - 28 days
