Does a baby need own visa application?

Post by ckbatman » Sat Dec 29, 2018 7:19 am

Hi there,

I am dumbfounded I can't find the answer to this as it probably pretty obvious - thank you in advance for any help you're able to give.

My neighbour has broken her leg - she is a Syrian national married to a British National. She has 3 very young children and I am helping them with their application for her sister to come here ASAP to help care for the children / allow the husband to return to work.

The sister is in Turkey now and has an 8 month old baby. They have completed the visa application for the sister and the appointment is on 15.01.18 but there wasn't a section about dependents travelling with her specifically just the section asking the passport number for any dependents (which they have filled in).

Does the baby need its own visa application??

Thanks so much in advance
Clare

Hi there

Yes it is a visitors visa - visiting family.

The reason is to help her sister with the children so that the husband can carry on working. Staying for a period of 6 weeks to support her through physio therapy etc. They have a letter from the ward sister at our local hospital explaining the injury and commenting how hard it will be to care for the children without help. The baby needs to come too because it is being breastfed etc. Her other two children will stay in Turkey with family.

I just don't know whether her visa covers the baby too?

Thank you for your help

Clare

Each applicant needs to complete an application form and have a passport each, so hopefully the baby has a passport.
