Does this mean my application was successful?

Post by StanleyL » Thu Sep 03, 2020 8:07 pm

Hello friends.

I have recently applied for ILR under SET(M) through my British wife. Today I got an email with the following text:
This message is to confirm that your application for indefinite leave to remain has now been decided and the decision is attached to this email.
When I open the attached .pdf file titled “Decision Letter”, I do not see an actual decision in the text, it starts with the usual BRP text straight away:
Dear Mr. ******,

A Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) will be sent to you under separate cover. You should receive your permit(s) within 7 working days [...]
Does this mean my application has been successful? In my FLR decision letters I always had a paragraph preceding this text that would actually confirm that the application was successful..

Thanks vm!

Seems a successful decision.

Thank you vm. I just wondered if it was an automatically generated email sent by the system by mistake since there almost appears to be a paragraph missing..

UKVI use multiple type of literatims from time to time but if they have said something about the delivery of BRP then most likely its a positive sign. However, its always wise not to plan anything including any jubilation until receiving and checking the accuracy of the contents on that BRP card.

Thank you all. For what it is worth, I managed to find a sample of ILR decision letter online which matched what I have received (i.e. only mention of BRP being dispatched rather than explicitly saying that the application was successful).

Good. Keep on waiting/chasing your BRP card.
