EEA Family permit error

Hello everyone,

I am an Indian citizen and received my eea family permit visa. However it was a huge shock to find out that my vist states "i am to be accompanied by xyz" someone who definitely is not my family.

I would like to know whom I can contact regarding complaints. Because not only did I receive a visa with a mistake, but I applied for priority since I wanted to attend my uncle's wedding, yet they took their own time to work on the visa. (I missed the wedding). And I know for a fact they didn't even look at my documents until the very end because I received a late email from them stating they cannot open the documents on their third party site for online applications (I wont state the name of said site). So I have proof they didnt even look at the documents. (Although I received a standard email stating the "case was complicated"- when they didn't even look at the documents!)

The issue is I want my passport in hand since I want to go to the UK for christmas. I'm considering taking a general tourist visa. And I think going down the complaint route might mean I wont have my passport for long. What do you guys think?

Contact them, this is an obvious mistake. Don’t do travel visa as basically from their point of view you already have entry clearance. This can complicate your immigration history

Is it possible to also get a refund as I spent quite a bit for priority visa and also my tickets. But due to the incorrect visa I've lost all that money.

I don’t think so. They say not to buy tickets before you get visa (there are warnings not to do so). As for the priority service, I assume you received your visa on time? They also say this isn’t guaranteed that you’ll get it faster.

I understand that the mistake is theirs but for future NEVER leave visa center before you check all details in your visa. If you use courier company, they normally give 24-48 hours to contact them if anything is wrong
