Hi all,
I read this forum many times and now that I have received my PR and applied for Citizenship I thought I would contribute and share my timeline.
I had to ask for my passport 3 times (after 10 working days each time) and finally got my passport back.
It took about 5 months in total for the PR.
Good luck everyone!

Looking at the most recent posts, I'm glad that so many August applicants seem to be experiencing increasingly fast turnaround times (the seeming trend towards 105 days from 130). But my own experience started to worry me, especially as my sister got hers back mid-November after submitting in mid-July, and my friend just got hers back today after submitting in mid-August. I'm at 135 days and counting...

So I thought I'd share my timeline in case anyone else is in the same boat as me. Maybe there are a few case workers who are just taking longer than others. I believe my case is straightforward. EU citizen, lived here 16 years, last 13 of these in continuous, full-time employment with two companies.

Hi Guys
I have applied for permanent residence card and it came today! :D .Greek National 6.5 years in U.K. (Studying for 4 years full time BEng and MSc and working for 2,5 years, 2 different employers)
Let me post my timeline here
1) application sent :03/09/16 (first class,signed for)
2)application recieved from Home office :05/09/16
3)Money taken for the application : 06/09/16 ( 65 pounds with a reference as EU Liverpool, I filled in my credit card details although some prefer Cheque which takes longer to process)
4)confirmation email from Home office showing case ID number :26/9/16 (You shouldn't worry that much if you don't get it the process is standard, mine went to my junk folder and saw it by accident
5)PR card issued by home office :13/12/16 (they have sent everything in one envelope, the blue card with a letter of approval with regards to when I can apply for British citizenship and all my paperwork as it was sent to them)
6) PR card with all documentation : came on the 17/12/16.postman arrived 0930 in the morning .( I have supplied the home office with a prepaid envelope and they have placed everything inside, paperwork separately and permanent residence card with letter separately too)
My case wasn't the easiest one. I gathered all my documents and separated them in chapters with numbers explaining what was each original document. This makes the life of case workers easier.my advise to anyone applying : Read the guidance notes carefully, prepare a personal statement explaining your case and try to organise your papers as much as possible .this will make the process faster .you need CSI Insurance if you were studying full time .i have provided this from my relevant sector in Greece were I was insured and translated everything .
Total waiting time 104 days (as I was expecting from what I read on this forum)
Good luck to everyone applying .
I am moving to the other forum for British citizenship now!!!
Happy days
Best regards
Yannis

Hi All,

I had become a member of this board nearly 6 years ago when I was going to apply for a temporary residence card in the UK as a non- EEA Family Member of a EEA National. The advice and discussions here proved very valuable for me, not only for the application itself, but also for visa-free travel to European countries as family member of a European!

And now its time for me (Indian national) and my still unmarried partner (Dutch national) to apply for the Permanent Residence cards :-) We have been both living and working here for the continuous period of 5 years, barring a few holidays. We will use the EEA(PR) form for this, and my EEA partner will also fill this up to get a card proving his right to live here (thanks Brexit!). I have a few questions for which I could not find answers and I hope you guys can help. Here goes:

1. Is there any other form apart from EEA(PR) we need to fill? My understanding is that that form should cover everything.
2. We will both need our passports for work-related travel, so cannot submit them to the HO. What is the best workaround? Do you know of reputable solicitors who might be able to provide attestation?
3. Is PR for a family member the same rights as Indefinite Leave to Remain?
4. Visa Free travel to EU. After getting PR, can I still travel visa free to Europe? If yes, does it still have to be WITH my partner, or am I now allowed to travel independently?

Any advice would be gratefully accepted!

1) EEA (PR) Form
2) for EEA national can use the European Passport Return Service , and for non-EEA it has to be sent to HO and then request it after the biometric is taken using the below links
* https://www.islington.gov.uk/birth-deat ... itizenship
for (EEA national) (you need to use your local one that's just an example)
* https://eforms.homeoffice.gov.uk/outrea ... ments.ofml
for (non-eea)
3) PR is under EU law, and ILR is under UK law..
4) Yes, and yes together or a visa if traveling alone!
Non-EEA (McCarthy Transitional Arrangement case)
PR card rec/dated:28 April 17

Hi all,

Was looking to get some advice.

A bit of background. I'm a non EEA citizen, who's been living in the UK legally for 9 years (Tier 1/HSMP then EEA2). My EEA2 visa is up in June next year so am going to apply for PR. I've been married to my wife for over 5 years. She's a EEA national who's been exercising her treaty rights for 9 years. We've both been working the whole time we've been here, my wife in the same job.

Given Brexit, I was going to apply for PR for both of us at the same time. A few questions:

1) Do we use the same form, or 2 separate ones? I was intending on using one, but had a brief call with an advisor who says we need to apply separately. This doesn't make sense to me, as my eligibility to PR is dependant on my wives.

2) I was also told that I can't apply until 28 days before my current visa expires. Is this correct even though we've been married for more then the 5 years?

Any help appreciated!

Its not a visa that you have!

1) You can apply on same form, spouse as main applicant; you as dependent.

Or as wife has been in UK for donkey's years she's likely to have acquired PR 3 or 4 years ago - should could apply on her own form capturing those kinds of timelines.
Your timeline appears to be more recent.

Start by collating all evidence and information.
See how it shapes up.

2) Nonsense and misinformation.

Did I mention you don't have a visa.
There's no 28-day rule on EU route.

Date of acquisition of PR has little or nothing to do with whether you happen to have an optional RC (or EEA2 as you call it).

You and sponsor should have acquired PR on 5th anniversary of your sponsor exercising treaty rights in UK;
that is, assuming you have been in UK that long and married to each other that long.
Also assuming neither party has enjoyed prolonged absences from UK.
All that is gold does not glitter; Not all those who wander are lost. E&OE.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. Apologies for getting the terminology incorrect. Your response to point 2) make perfect sense and I'm going to apply ASAP.

In terms of your response to point 1). Yes we've been married for over 5 years and neither of us have had prolonged absences from the UK. My timeline appears more 'recent' as I was on the Tier 1 visa when we first moved to the UK. She would have been entitled to PR several years ago, but I never really saw the point in applying previous to Brexit. You initially say that she should apply as main applicant with myself as a dependant but then say that she should/could apply on her own? If I apply on a separate form, I don't understand how it works with all the documentation, given that I'd need everything for hers?

I'm aware that we both qualify under the existing rules, just want to do what is the most correct!

These aren't as detailed as my own dates, but my sister (112 days):
Docs received 27/07/2016
Confirmation email 23/08/2016
Passport requested 16/08/2016
Passport received 30/08/2016
DCPR received 15/11/16

My friend (109 days):
Docs received 30/08/2016
DCPR received 16/12/2016
One thing she did differently was that she didn't ask for her national ID back, as she has both a national ID and a passport.

We all compared notes and did everything the same way - categorising evidence neatly in numbered sections, providing a covering letter etc. We even provided essentially the same amount and quality of evidence. I'm starting to get a little worried now - is it normal for there to be such a large discrepancy? Do they ever lose your application and paperwork after you ask for your passport back?

Hi All, I am a formar indian national I acquired my EEA rights through my mother. I have been living in England since 2010.
I have applied for my and my 20 month old daughters PR card since August 30. An agent completed our application.

So we sent application on 30th August 2016, they received it on 31st august, payment was taken on 3rd September, I received my daughters biometric letter on 14th September, sent biomentric on 18th September and since then I haven't received anything. No response at all.

Biometric letter was also sent for my daughter not for me. it will be nearly 4 months, I am very worried. I need to apply for my daughters passport and visit India in July 2017, unfortunitly I cant book the tickets as I have fear of not getting PR card. don't know what to do :(

why the Biometric letter hasn't been sent to you? Also why are you worried about your daughter's passport when your application still in process! aren't you aware that EEA PR application can takes up to six months, you can't do much about it, so my advise to you is, to sit tight and wait

Congratulation to your wife, also remember your 5 years period clock has started from your wedding day rather than Nov 2012, and make sure she doesn't apply for BC till you get your PR!

good luck!

Thanks for advise. my PR application pack is ready and am intended to submit in the 1st week of Jan 2017.
I was waiting for wife application outcome. My wife will be eligible for BC in May 2017, hopefully by then I'll have my PR if not we'll have to wait.
I have a question if you or anyone could help please
Q. Has EU-root applicants need to have passed B2 english and life in the UK test for BC or it's only for ILR?

Thanks once again All

Friends, my wait is finally over! Second application. Over 180 days gap split between 2 qualifying years. No CSI, but I had yellow registration certificate issued before 20/06/2011 on the basis that I was a student. Everything was clearly explained in a few cover letters I sent along with my rock solid documentation :)

EEA DCPR Timeline
Application received: 16/09/2016
Payment taken: 19/09/2016
Confirmation email: 03/10/2016
DCPR issued: 20/12/2016
DCPR received: 26/12/2016

It is very obvious that the returning times have vastly improved since June / July. It still takes ~100 days, but that's better than 120-130 which was normal a few months ago.

Hello,

Has anyone else received their COA along with their Biometric letter. My COA states that the HO are unable to confirm my right to work at this time.

I am a non Eea husband of My Eea wife who recently got her DCPR.
I applied for permanent residence card last month and enclosed within my wife's DCPR along with other relevant documents such as, marriage certificate, proof of living together for last five years etc.

I have now received a biometric enrolment letter but along with it I also have received COA which states that they are unable to confirm my right to work because (and I quote):
"You have not provided original documentation for the following: sufficient evidence of your sponsor exercising Treaty rights"

I sent her ORIGINAL DCPR along with original passports and all other original documents. What else do I need to provide? Is this an error on their part and if so, do I need to contact them to reissue a correct version of COA? Does anyone have their address/email?

My residence card which was issued to me almost five years ago expires mid January does that mean I shouldn't be working after that expiry date?

Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.
