When your previous BRC was expiring
OK, never mind, I just found this:
Trick is to find what time this happens, and be at the ready. Is this midnight? 8:00 AM? I guess I will find out tomorrow. At the moment, new appointments are released 28 days in advance. Our booking calendar shows 4 weeks of appointments with a new date added each day, offering a mix of free and chargeable appointments so do keep on checking back. Free appointments do get booked up very quickly so you may need to book a few weeks ahead to find the right appointment for you.

Midnight release are paid ones.
I got a free appointment at 8am on the 4th day trying. Couldn’t believe my luck and eyes. I had tried for 3days then one day at exactly 8 there were like 20 free appointments at a core centre in Birmingham. Got mine next Monday.
Wife has received an email today saying that a new card will be delivered within 7 w/days. Happy days!Xter27 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 9:04 pmThank you for sharing. Her card’s expiry date is in July 2023. I’ll give it few more weeks maybe, but this is becoming very annoying. A simple job taking months.max121 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 8:55 pmYes, I read a few posts with people in a similar situation. We are as well in that position.Xter27 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 2:58 pmHi all, could anyone advise please - my wife applied to exchange her RC to an EUSS card back in November I believe (biometrics done around that time). We’ve heard nothing since.
Anyone in a similar position?
She has tried contacting the HO, but they don’t seem to have a clue about what’s being asked of them. Their incompetence is unbelievably frustrating, I must say.
There is a theory that this could be due to the expiry date of the existing RC we hold. It seems recently that home offices responded to two persons here to confirm this.
What is the expiry date of your wife's resident card? If it's in 2022, you may need to wait longer than average.
Hello, iwolga wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 6:31 pmYes, if your online status is linked to the old BRC.loveforlove wrote: ↑Sat Mar 06, 2021 2:14 pmHello guys,
Once the new replaced card is received, do we have to update it with digital status?
Thanks
Thanks for updating us. Did you write an email or call them? We haven’t done anything, really. My wife tried to chase them a few weeks ago, but I don’t think she was able to get through to the right people. Not sure if any of her calls/emails have actually helped here, but who knows. I just think the HO isn’t very organised in terms of dealing with these cases. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Can you pls share your timeline, application and biometrics dates pls thx.Xter27 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 17, 2021 10:24 pmWe haven’t done anything, really. We had cancelled it when the confirmation email came through thinking that we’ll need the EU RC to travel to the EU. (We did not travel due to C-19)
2nd application: mid Oct, no email asking to confirm
Biometrics: 19 Nov (paid)
Success email: 17 March

Yes, if your online status is linked to the old BRC.
How long does it take for them to update the new card with digital status? I have updated it on Friday and the system noted that I will get an email confirming the update.
Thank you
