Elderly widow parents

Post by dewanicky » Fri Feb 10, 2023 5:20 pm

Hi

All the posts I have seen regarding applying for elderly dependent parent visa appears to be before 2012. It is when the immigration rules were changed.

My mum is 86 with Parkinsons and early onset dementia. she is living with me on a visitors visa but her 180 days are about to expire. She hasn't got anybody back home to look after her. I am seeking advise on how to make her stay with me in UK permanently with her going back. She is totally dependent on me. I wash her, cloth her, cook for her and give her medicine on time.

Please I will be grateful if someone can assist. PLease let me know if there is a special form to fill for change of visa under compassionate ground and what documents i would be needing to support her application.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

What ties to her home country did she prove to be successful with a visitor visa application?

How long did she state in the form that she was visiting you for? Did she state she was visiting for 6 months?

What is your immigration status in rhe UK?

What country is she from? Who helped her before she came to the uk?

This is exactly the kind of moves that makes it harder for elderly parents to get issued a UK visitors visa. Harder to decipher genuine visitors based on not wanting to leave after entering the UK.

Unfortunately, every elderly parent falls ill, as it's part of the ageing process. We also find it hard to see them like that.

But, you just can't break the rules based on sentiments.
No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
