eligibility to apply for ILR

Post by psla1973 » Wed Sep 04, 2019 8:53 am

Hi

My question is to understand my child's (son) eligibility to apply for ILR / naturalization within short period.

I'm British citizen (got naturalized in Feb 2017). Details of my UK visas are as below:

March 2013 -received my ILR
Feb 2017 - received my naturalization certificate (British citizenship).

Son's details:
==============
Born: Dec-2014 in Sri Lanka

Still in Sri lanka and planning to come to Uk under dependent Visa.

My question:

1) Is my son eligible to apply ILR within short period once he enter to Uk or if not how long he need to stay to get his ILR(time of child born I had ILR but he born outside the country)

Please Kindly provide advice .

Thanks,
yours faithfully,

Padmal

What about the other parent? What is their immigration status?

The child will follow the same immigration path as your spouse, 2 X 2.5 year visas, and when they qualify both will apply for ilr.

There is no shortcut route for your child born abroad.
