Eu visit visa

Post by zeeshi1122 » Thu Oct 06, 2022 6:40 pm

Hi Everyone,

My wife got EU visit visa and her visa states single entry only and days of visit only 4 even though visa is valid for 2 weeks would there be any issue for staying for a week and multiple countries in EU?

Many thanks

I assume you mean Schengen visa.
If I understand it right, start and end dates are 14 days apart, but "Duration of Stay" column is 4 days?
Then she can spend only 4 days in any of the Schengen zone countries. Week and a half will cause issues, as she violated her conditions of stay, which may lead to future visa refusals.
She can travel between countries during the 4 days, as entry means entry into Schengen Zone, not entry to individual country.

Yes you understood right..

Are you sure 1 week stay instead of 4 days will cause issue? Also visa she got is for Sweden but we Will be visiting France is that ok?

If amount of days allowed is 4 days, it would be reasonable to assume that staying in the country for longer than that will not be looked good upon. You can do what you wish, of course, but I'd advice against it.

Do you mean you'll be going to both Sweden and France or France only? First option is fine, second - you'll be let in and everything, but might theoretically cause an issue in the future, as you deviated from your expected plan; you had to provide documents about your trip to Sweden, but you ended up not going there, so it's possible that when she applies for a visa next time, visa officers may doubt her plans in the EU. Or it might be fine.

You should do your best to stick to the trip as you declared it when you applied for the visa, there is a reason why those questions are asked. If you deviate, you might face repercussions down the line.

She will get her british passport next year anyway so will not need EU visa in future..

Something to be conscious of is that when she applies for UK naturalisation they will look at her immigation history in the last 10 years (also to other countries). This wouldn't be a huge violation, but also would look like a lax attitude towards the rules. It's your choice in the end.

The UK naturalisation application doesn't care about how you moved about in a different country.
These are extreme parallels.

It's not a criminal offence. Same way you can't be denied a visiting visa to the UK because you got denied a visiting visa to Canada.

No sin in failing, you just have to try and try again!
