European travel - Schengen visa required?

Hello,

My wife is on a spouse visa (10 year route) and has been in the UK for nearly 6 years. She has a Ghanaian passport and UK Biometric Residence Permit.

We would love to go for a short break to Europe (maybe France, Netherlands or Germany) during the kids Xmas holiday.

Does my wife need a Schengen visa to visit Europe? I seem to be finding conflicting information online and not sure if maybe something changed since Brexit?
