Expiring BRP but ILR has been submitted

Hi,

I submitted my ILR back in June (Set (m)) but my BRP is about to expire in September. I’ve not heard back about my application.

Do I need to renew my existing BRP or does the expiration date not count as my application is being processed?

I want to apply for a new job but my new employer won’t make a decision as my BRP is about to expire.

It still expires, but you are protected by section 3c of the immigration rules when it expires and your application is still pending.

And they have every right to do this. A valid brp is proof of your right to work and live in the UK.
