Tier 1 (general) - Dependant Visa

Post by Sivaquery » Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:31 pm

Hi,

My husband initially came to the UK via the Tier 1-(General) visa in 2010. Now he has British Citizenship.

My kids and I are still on a Tier 1 dependent Visa. I last renewed our visa in Jan 2020.

Now I am trying to renew the dependent Visa for myself and my 2 kids.(valid till Jan 2023)

But when I check the government website, I can't find the PBS dependent visa / Tier 1 (general) dependant Visa anymore.

And none of the other Visas are applicable for us.

I tried the PBS, Start-up, Innovator or Global Talent dependant partner Visa, but it does not have the option of selecting the main applicant as Tier 1 General.

Can you pls help me with this?

Hi,
Can someone pls help?
Has the extension of this visa been discontinued?
What are my options if I don't want to switch and reset the clock?
I just have 1&1/2 years more for applying for an ILR and really need this extension to go thru.
Any advice pls?

Then the next drop should have Tier 1 as an option.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean.

The only two options available in the drop down are Tier1 - Investor and Tier 1 - Entrepreneur.
But not Tier 1 - General. Which is the category I am a dependant under and have validity to stay till Jan 2023.

I cant find any information about the visa being discontinued or reallocated for the dependants of Tier 1 general. So am assuming I cant find the correct link.

Pls help.

Hi,

Can somebody pls post the links or information regarding extending my PBS dependant - Tier1 (General) Visa.

If this visa is not currently extendable, I would need to switch to Family Visa and reset my 3.5 yrs spent in UK.

Pls kindly help.

Extension for Dependants of Tier 1 (General) closed- What are my options?

Post by Sivaquery » Wed Sep 21, 2022 11:15 am

Hi,

Sincere Apologies for posting again.

I am posting here again as I have not received any clear guidance after contacting the Citizens advice and Minority law centre.

I have been informed that the Extension of visa for Dependants of Tier 1 (General) is closed and that I and my kids should switch to the Family visa. My husband became a British Citizen in 2018.

Can I do this while in UK?

Will my 3.5 yrs of stay as a Dependant of Tier 1 (General) since May 2019 be reset ?

Have I got any other option of extending as I and my kids need only 1.5 years more to be eligible for an ILR?

Can someone pls advice as time is of essence if I need to make alternative applications, documentations etc ready.

Thanks for any suggestions and help.
