Family application

HI All,

I am British citizen and I want to apply for citizenship for my Wife of 3 years (together for 7) and my step daughter. I think i'm right in saying my wife will apply using naturalisation as we're married and my child must complete the MN1? The confusion is with the MN1 form, section 3.1 to 3.15 specifically.

It asks "3.1 State which parent is the one who is a British citizen by descent and on whom this
application is based"

I cannot be labelled the father as I am a Step father through the marriage and my wife is not yet a citizen as the application will be in process as they will apply at the same time, In this case how do I answer question 3.1 to 3.15?

My wife has absolutely no contact with my daughters biological Father, they were never married either, should be stated in the additional notes at the rear of the form?

Also when applying how do they know both Mother and Daughter have applied? is there somewhere that i need to reference each other's application.

Not relevant. The child will only qualify for citizenship if her mother is granted citizenship. Step parents are not counted for Nationality applications.

Does the biological fathers name appear on the birth certificate? What was used in the immigration/visa applications to prove sole responsibility?
