FLR(M) Dependants Question

Post by MrUK2020 » Thu May 02, 2019 3:46 pm

Good Afternoon All,

Apologise if this is being posted in the wrong location.

Preparing my partners spouse visa extension. Can’t get a clear answer as to whether our child (under 5) who holds full British Nationality needs to be listed as a dependant.

This is important as it’d require action in regards to our financial situation as obviously a dependant child would mean a higher expectation.

As the child is a national and passport holder my gut instinct was no but then I’m also prone to argue that a child regardless of nationality could be argued as a dependant.

Many thanks in advance

MrUK

I am fairly sure the form asks about British children NOT applying, as the previous paper application forms asked.

There is no additional income requirement if the child is BRITISH.

Cheers mate

Really appreciate it. It’s really annoying you can’t see the form in advance now. For the initial visa we literally went through the form and made sure we ticked all the boxes and had related evidence but now you can’t really prepare that way.

Any idea if I were to sign up now about 6 months out of renewal would that impact in anyway. Reason being like I say I wanna prepare by actually going through the form and ensuring we meet everything.

Again thanks

You can run a dummy of the form and not pay/submit and then leave it and start again when ready.
