FLR(M) - financial requirements question

Post by fourteen0407 » Sat Nov 28, 2015 11:54 am

Hi All,

ive got a question regarding Section 7A - financial requirement and would appreciate any guidance and help.

My situation is is this. Im applying for an extension to my wife's visa which ends next month, but im not sure which option to chose in section 7A.

i work 2 full days a week for a company, working as a social worker for which i get a monthly wage of £950 net, the other 3 days of the week i work as an "agent" for the same company as and when im required and get paid for job by job basis at the end of each month. I started work for this company in January 2015.

i also have savings of £20,000 which i have saved over the last year or so. about 6 months ago i had savings of £40,000 but i had to lend money to family so over the last few months the figure climbed down to about £12000 in august 2015 and then has since climbed back up to £20,000 today after saving more,

so my question is this, firstly which option do i tick for question 7.3 as my understanding is i have a salaried and non salaried employment, so is it category A or B?

or can i rely on my salary employment of £12000 per annum and my savings of £20,000 even though in august 2015 it was about £12,000 and has since gone back up to £20,000?

if i do have to rely on my non salary employment where exactly do i add that, as in 7.3 it asks for income for salaried employment only, and current annual salary and then ask to tick option a or b

thankyou for any help

On the basis of the facts above , you will not meet the financial requirement.

To use savings, you should have had over 16000 in your account in the 6 months preceeding the application.

Furthermore they will take the gross and not the net of your pay.

thankyou for your reply and help,

so i cannot use my salaried employment and savings,

however what about my non salaried employment, on average i earn approx £1500 a month and then £1000 gross as a monthly wage (salaried)

so can you help me in explaining me which options i chose in section 7a and how to calculate my annual salary

If 1500 gross has been earned for last 6 months on a continuous basis and there are no non eea children, then you may be ok.

You may have to work out how to fill the form, based on the advise I give and the circumstances of your case. Any dup in wages or salary, and the lowest amount earned over the preceding 6 months will be taken.

It's £1550 a month for six months. The first £16,000 of savings are discounted.
