FLR M Partners living in two cities

Post by frmglasgow » Fri Nov 23, 2018 11:20 pm

Hi There,

I am looking forward to apply first extension of FLR M for my wife from UK.

In last two years me and my wife lived one month separately due to a locum work she did for an hospital in other city. Whilst she was with me over the weekend but lived other city over the weekdays. Do I have to mention this under the FLR M question if we have lived apart? Will this be an issue for home office? can partners live in other city for work and show cohabitation in terms of train tickets, mobile bills?

Thanks!

I don't think that living apart for only 1 months will be an issue. Just spread the proof of cohabitation evenly and I don't think anyone even can notice it.

If you lived only 1 month apart am assuming in that time you wouldn't have had much correspondences in that property you lived in.

Am also assuming majority of all your correspondences were from when you lived together same address. If both parts are true then I wouldn't mention it because you will having nothing to prove it anyway.

2 years of proof of cohabitation usually be needed to spread evenly let say 3 months, so 1 month living apart will even not be noticed.

Thank you for you reply guys. We have tons of evidence of cohabitation for last 3 years which I will submit anyway but for a month she lived in other city in hospital accommodation.

Actually the hospital she did locum work took my wife's permission to verify BRP Card, so home office may or may not aware if she worked there. So I am confused if I should declare it or hide it as when I counted days, she was 19 days in other city and 11 days in home with me.

you have already been correctly answered. If you still wish then can declare it.

Thankyou guys. So just to be sure, living apart for a month in last 2 years for married person on tier 2 applying FLR M is not going to be an issue? if I declare it on visa application.

I suspect that If I dont declare, since my wife being paid for a month of salary from other city may reflect in HMRC papers and may cause problem if investigated.

She must have other proofs of cohabitation on same address during these few days. Then why don't you attach only those ones

Thanks seagul for the reply.

In summary our main home is in Glasgow whereas my wife lived few days spread over one month in Hull.

What we have is hospital's official accommodation bill where she stayed while worked as locum doctor in the hospital, not anything else to show we cohabited in hull. But after declaring that, I am aiming to show train tickets showing she was visiting the main home in Glasgow to live with the husband and continue to show cohabitaion in Glasgow without break.

So despite living apart days in Hull, the main residence was in Glasgow where my wife visited over the weekends.

I think this is not going to be problem, but if it is, then I can hide?

As advised earlier that just spread your cohabitation documents over 2-3 months which won't even show such minor gap. No need to declare which will complicate the things which caseworker always looking for.

Thanks again for promt reply.

Sorry to bother you again, just the last thing. Assuimg if I dont declare and continue to show cohabitaion for our main home. As my wife being paid for that month from umbrella company and its record is on HRMC website, would this be an issue?

Thanks and Best wishes!
