Brp after family life decision (asylum route) COVID 19

Post by Violetsareblue » Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:34 pm

Could someone help me please. If you check my record from the asylum forum you’d know about about my history. I had a decision letter granting me family life leave to remain after asylum refusal in June but I don’t have brp yet. The Ukvcas are already giving appointments to July application but I can’t seem to get in contact with anyone to book an appointment. Kindly advice me pls.
Thanks

Either continue to wait or speak to your local MP.

Hi Violetsareblue

My partner is in a similar situation. He was sent an email to book a Biometrics appointment in May. The Service and Support Appointment Line (SSAL) number has been saying they are closed since. We have contacted UKVI and all they say is to keep trying to ring the number. Its such a frustrating situation

Hello Maijj
Thank for replying. I’m relieved to know that there’s someone out there I can relate too. All the immigration number I’ve called, They seem to be clueless when I explain my situation and kept saying I should’ve done biometrics online during application and register with Ukvcas. Very frustrating indeed. 😅

Had an email late this afternoon from the UKVI complaints and they suggested to try calling the number from Monday. Fingers crossed they will actually be opened

Have you managed to get through to book your biometrics appointment yet? It looks like UKVI just tell you stuff that is not true because I have been trying the SSAL number and its still saying they are closed.

The number on my brp letter is 0800 055 6355.
Is that the same as yours? Or did you get an email telling you to book an appointment?

I rang 08002346344 and they were able to book me the appointment, even though its a different phone number to the one on my letter. I believe the number they gave us on our original letters, is no longer in use

Hello

Yes I had a biometrics enrolment letter which was sent in May with the SSAL phone number. Initially when I rang they could not find my file on their system to book me an appointment but I rang numerous times before they managed to do it for me

Contact your caseworker or the department thats dealing with your case coz they should have sent you the biometrics enrolment letter when your leave was granted. Also contact your MP and parliamentary Ombudsman if you do not hear back from home office

Hi again,
We got biometric letters in June when we got granted leave but the number in that is not going through. Apparently I need to receive a new letter in order for them to book me in. I’ll contact the caseworker team.

Great news. Hopefully you won't have to wait long for them to issue BRP. I am still waiting for mine to come, they said it could take 6 weeks after enrolling biometrics. So fingers crossed
