Can anybody tell me if i Need to travel do I need to bring my biometric card along me? Or can I travel with my TD only? Thanks
You need to travel with your BRP if you wish to board the plane and enter the UK. The BRP is your visa/ILR.

Do not use the online service!

Post by cheshirecheese » Sat Jul 28, 2018 9:10 am

Do not use the online service it doesn’t ask for a signature and invalidates your application in the process it’s essentially broken.

Online Application 27/04/2018
Posted the online application on 30/04/2018

Letter on 26/07/2018 (THREE WHOLE MONTHS LATER) stating that the application was invalid because the signature was “too large.” This is of course nonsense because no signature was requested in the first place.

They sent the last page of their paper application form back and requested it be signed.

Hungary is a definite no. They have and extreme right wing government and block refugees without a Schengan Visa!

When we went to Maldives in December 2017, it was visa on arrival. I emailed beforehand and they said for TD's they will check authenticity of the document. It was very smooth & easy
Have a good time

Good evening everyone. I have a question I’m Planning to visit Portugal this month for 4 days, I know it’s visa free, I’ve been checking their website it said something about travel insurance does that apply to a holder of a convention travel document? Thanks

Hi Miss Mimi,

My husband is Europen and I travel to Europe without a visa.

They don't strictly require a travel insurance but it is good for your protection, so I do advice to at least apply for Europen health insurance card. It's Free and it gives you the right to access state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay in another European Economic Area.

Here is the link: https://www.nhs.uk/NHSEngland/Healthcar ... -ehic.aspx

And because you are a UK resident, you are eligible to apply for it.

All the best.

Hi everyone,

Did anyone apply for the identity certificate (black passport)? I did not receive the decision until now!!! and I received an email yesterday stating that they are still working on applications received on the 14/03/2018 and my application will be passed to a caseworker in due course.

It's 95 working days since I submit my application!! 4 months!

You don't need to send your BRP as the application say it clearly DO NOT SEND YOUR BRP. I hope it helps.

Re: Convention Travel Documents Application - After ILR

Post by da09aam » Sat Aug 25, 2018 11:17 am

Hi all,

I have a question following the grant of ILR and wondering if anyone previously in a similar situation can help.

I applied in on 22/05/18 and was granted ILR on 15/08/2018 stating Refugee Settlement and Indefinite Leave to Remain in the remarks.

I am now looking to apply for a travel document so I can travel around. I am slightly confused as to apply for the (Blue - £75)) travel document which would be the same as to what I had during the 5 years before my application for ILR OR apply for a Travel Certificate (black - £280).

I would appreciate your help.

Thanks

Hi, You apply for the same one (Blue). Since you now have ILR the new document will likely be valid for 10 years
