Do downloaded Bank Dratements need to be verified by bank!

Good afternoon all,

Any advice on whether Bank Statements downloaded from online banking need to be then verified by the bank and stamped to prove they are originals? Called UKV&I line and they weren't sure and said check with Bank!

Any one know the answer to this?
