Have a good one Chess - don't believe employment related immigration categories will be discontinued. If anything they will probably get enhanced and more expensive..I see a day when WP applications will be in the GBP 200+ range and FLR applications hitting the GBP 500+ mark.

Expect asylum and family related immigration e.g marriage etc to get hammered. I will be suprised if the UK is still a signatory to the 1951 UN Convention on refugees by the next elections if the government does not get away with the dehumanising of asylum seekers through the current Asylum and Immigration (Treatment of Claimants etc) Bill before parliament which takes asylum seekers outside the law by removing the Home Office from any judicial review, criminalises asylum seekers for entry into the UK, gives Immigration Officers sweeping powers of arrest without a warrant and no checks unlike the police who have to follow a code and compels the legal fraternity to disclose details that have always remained in the remit of lawyer/client confidentiality.

Work permits already cost more than £200 (WP + LTR (IED)).

Chess .... the wait isnt too far. its 2nd of May next (in the UK)

Bank holidays only mean there is no funds settlement on those days in that particular country.

Cant imagine if ATM'S were ever shut!!

Thanx Dip,

I gather that for the UK.....

Bank holidays are days in the whole or part of the UK on which banks may close for business. The law makes provision for certain payments to be deferred until the next appropriate day for this purpose.

Well Bank Holidays could also be an excuse for having 'long' weekends

Interesting comment ....

I just noticed that the next 6 UK bank holidays are all tagged with weekends.
