Family Name Mandatory in UK Standard Visitor Visa Application form

Post by mshivani » Thu Mar 24, 2022 10:29 am

Hi,

I am applying for a standard Visitor visa for the UK from India and found that family name is mandatory to fill in the application form. My Indian passport does not have a Family name or surname on it as it's blank. It has only First name and middle name.

Please advise on what should I fill in the visa application form under Family name if it's not there in my passport.

Thanks in Advance!

For such situations for British citizens, HMPO (the UK passport issuing authority) normally puts "XXX" in the first name field and the mononym (the name) in the last name field of the UK passport.

Perhaps you should do the same and put an explanation in a cover letter along with the application.

Not sure why you posted another topic asking the same questions when moderator secret.simon already responded to you yesterday!
