Replacement BRP

Post by blobasaur » Fri Feb 11, 2022 10:14 am

Hi everyone,

I recently lost my BRP (ILR) and applied for a replacement one on 12th Jan. I was invited to use the IDV app to submit biometrics/docs. Home office says that it can take upto 8 weeks for tier 2 replacements and 6 months for ILR replacements, so I'm looking for data points of recent applications (all the ones I was able to find are ~1 year old) and how long they took.

Has anyone else been through this process recently (especially using IDV app?) Could you share your timelines?

Thanks

Hi, Good idea on creating this thread. I lost my ILR in spain last month and subsequently reported lost and applied for the replacement. Do keep us posted with any updates please. I heard they're taking way longer than 6 months in case of ILRs.

My timeline is:

Submitted UKVI application on 11-Jan-2022
Received confirmation to use IDV app on 17-Jan-2022
Submitted biometrics via app on 17th-Jan-2022
Decision Pending approval

Also, how much in fee you paid for replacement. And were you given the premium option of £890 for urgent processing?

I paid the standard processing fee (£75.20) - it didn't look like the priority/fast processing option is available anymore. What about you?

No reply yet. Tried to reach Local MP to push the process. No response as well.
We planned to fly this April 3rd and an Ireland visa application is pending due to this.

Same situation. Had to away during easter break but it seems that gonna have to cancel my plans too. I also tried to get the Ireland visa with just copy of my ILR BRP, but VFS did not accept my application submittion.

Hope you get response for your application soon. As for me ILR BRP Replacements are taking from 4 - 6 months. So that may go well up to July 2022.

Dear yaofficial232
re they requested " A clear scanned copy of passport data page"
Did you not use the document checking service @£45?
It might have prevented this problem!
Maybe suggest that to all applicants.
Might save a few weeks?

i didnt lol , i was told to upload the documents on idv and i used the same documentation as my previous application which was succesful (june 2021 ) ,that one worked so i thought this would go good too ,

i think there was a miscommunication on there part since they think i have a passport (which i dont only an ilr ) i told them that and now im waiting for a response

Do you not have your non-British passport?
If you need to apply for BRP, you certainly don't have a British passport.

yea both my brothers (2) applied through the same way im doing right now and they both got their passports , its pretty easy they told me

its a long story but short story is i need a brp to apply for naturalisation because i used it as id for my life in the uk test (before i lost it)

" *If you used one of these documents when you took the Knowledge of Life in the UK test you will be expected to use it again by enclosing it with your naturalisation application."

ill have to ask if i can apply without the brp since i lost it

Dear yaofficial232
''Stop feeding the greedy UKVCAS! It can be easily checked by yourself.''
I totally agree with you. And believe me in the past 16 years I have spent many £thousands with UKVI.
However after living in the UK for 12 years, 10 of which with ILR, my Wife is now trapped and cannot return home to visit her family, because her BRP expires soon. I want her renewal to be completed ASAP with minimal fuss and stress to her.
I find the manner with which the UKVI treat people to be disgraceful particularly when they records going back years.
Unfortunately it will get worse and it will never be improved.
