Handing back BRP/BRC after naturalisation

Post by Hayley01 » Thu Jan 05, 2023 12:47 pm

I got my naturalisation certificate today and I was aware of the requirement to send back any old BRP but the registrar said you don't need to hand back any document under the EU settlement scheme? I hold ILR issued under the EU settlement scheme as the non EU spouse of an EU national. This expires in 2024.

Do I need to cut this up and send it back or send it to them with a note asking them to cancel it and enclose a prepaid return envelope.

As it is a Biometric residence card not sure if it meets the criteria to be cut up and sent back in 5 days.

Thanks in advance for your guidance

You do not have to return BRCs.
