Should I expect to be another 3 to 4 weeks for an outcome to be confirmed?
When I had to submit a second form of photo ID when applying after naturalisation (despite the form claiming I only needed one) then my application went back to to the start of the queue and I had to wait another 4+ weeks

Thanks nisi for sharing. I have just looked at the tracker following arrival of the new form at Balbriggan. It is showing 1 July, so hopefully only another 3 weeks for an update, which ideally will be a positive one!

:D Pleased to say it has switched to printing, one day before the 3 weeks was up. Will post a full timeline, once I have it all in hand (passport and card)!

:D Passbook and card arrived today!

- Online form completion 12/4/25
- Submission posting date 24/4/25
- DFA Document Receipt date 30/4/25
- First Estimated approval date 29/5/25
- Witness form rejected 27/5/25
- Resubmission form 27/5/25
- Witness form redone at London Irish Centre 6/6/25
- Witness form reposted 6/6/25
- Documents processing 10/6/25
- Estimated completion date 1/7/25
- DFA Printing date 30/6/25
- DFA despatch date passport book 1/7/25
- DFA despatch date passport card 1/7/25
- Receipt of passport 4/7/25
- Receipt of pass card 4/7/25

I would suggest to all in the UK if have you have a local Irish Centre, seek their help. I think it would avoid documentation and witness mishaps. The London Irish Centre were very helpful to me on the resubmitting of the witness form, signed by them.

Is this normal?

Hi, everyone.

I am a bit concerned and would like to hear your opinion.

I applied online on the 24th of July (Thu) and sent the documents on the same day at 12:00 PM. I delivered the documents at An Post Erne Street Upper, Dublin.

So far, the An Post tracking page has no updates.

The only update is: "Your item has been handed to An Post".

Shouldn't it have arrived by now? 28?

No updates in the Passport website either.

Apparently, they may have forgotten to scan my package.

Thank you.

Do you need a cover letter for the passport application along with the documents like the naturalisation cert etc, or only the required docs here https://www.ireland.ie/en/dfa/passports ... nts/adult/
If you are a naturalised Irish citizen and are now resident in Ireland, please submit the following original documents.

Identity verification form – this will be generated when you submit your passport application through Passport Online
Original Naturalisation Certificate
Full original civil birth certificate (version that includes the name(s) of the parent(s)).
Original Civil marriage or Civil Partnership certificate (if applying for a passport in your married name).
Proof of name such as Government correspondence e.g. a letter from the Department of Social Protection or the Revenue Commissioners.
Proof of address such as Government correspondence e.g. a letter from the Department of Social Protection or the Revenue Commissioners. If you do not have these, original utility bills, or bank statements can be considered.
You must submit one document as proof of name and one document as proof of address. It cannot be the same document.
Photographic identification (two forms of photo ID must be submitted)
Original passport or national ID card from another country
Photocopy of your Public Services Card OR Certified copy of your driver's licence (certified by a Garda, solicitor, notary or the issuing authority).
