ILR and New Offer

Post by jaykay164 » Wed Apr 17, 2024 12:51 pm

Hi Folks!

I am in a bit of a confusion and could use some advice/help.

I am applying for my ILR in mid of June 24 and currently working with company A. I have recently received an offer from company B and my current notice period is 3 months. I understand I need a letter from the current employer confirming that they will need me for foreseeable future along with my ILR application which wont be the case If i resign.

My question is whether it is possible to get that letter from company B when I submit my application i.e. them confirming that I will be joining from lets say August 24 and will be needed for foreseeable future.

Really appreciate any guidance on this. TIA

No, you cant do that. The letter must be from your visa sponsor otherwise you wont get or qualify for ilr. The rules are very clear. A job offer is irrelevant for ilr based on skilled worker visa

You either switch to a new skilled worker visa with the new sponsor, wait one month to get a payslip and then apply for ilr or you delay resigning.

Hey do you mind please sharing your experience on what you ended up doing. It would really help some of us out in similar situations.
